Energy - The American Experience
AVA06181VNB1, 1994
Description/Abstract: The film shows the development of different forms of energy under the unique conditions of the American experience. It depicts the 60-year changing cycles of energy sources from wood to coal to oil and gas, demonstrates that the fuels Americans thought inexhaustible are being used too rapidly, and discusses how to plan the best use of present resources and mobilize science and industry to develop new sources and choices of energy.
An interesting period piece.
Though it has some useful information, it is otherwise an annoying, sometimes infuriating, piece of American propaganda. Nevertheless, information about energy creation and use is always a good thing, despite the background music.
Great post for making this available- thanks,

My guess is that this is about 1978. It references 1990 in the future.
