Since I'm using an EVO with HTC Sense I can't use a Wii Remote (they horked the bluetooth stack). This is a project I did using an Arduino and a Bluesmirf bluetooth module so I could control my NES emulator on my EVO with an NES controller. I picked up the connector and controller at Defcon this year and thought this would be a fun project. All the code is at http://github.com/sk3tch .

  • cool bro, but now android has tablets and hdmi and supports usb hosting and usb controllers. so u dont need all that just to play mario.

anyway its still amazing and i hope that ur much more skilled now. im thinking about learning arduino myself

  • @floiran yes

  • @inomadv3 Just so you know, he is using a HTC Evo 4g wich uses a crippled Bluetooth stack, wich means you cant use a wiimote with it.

  • @halojunkie69 I'm doing something like this for my senior design, working on putting up a tutorial at thehelloworld.info

  • Just so you know you can use a wiimote with android O_o go to market and download the wiimote app and follow the instructions.

  • awesome but sad face u couldnt teach us how to build please put a how to build and maby upgrade controller for more buttens like a super nintendo controller and funny fail with the camera i have a bunch of emulators on my evo 4g with no controller help me

  • So.. you got a hacked NES controller over bluetooth to work with NESoid, right? And it looks like your on Sense! So, how did you get a bluetooth controller to work on Sense, which has no HID bluetooth, like say what a Wiimote uses? This process might be able to work with other bluetooth devices.. heck maybe even a wiimote!

At least then we could use a controller with our EVOs without having to run a custom rom and lose 4G!

  • he's got his priorities in order

  • I love Android. And this is one of the many reasons why.
