SKHY implemented an Academy type approach and sees itself as facilitator in the mental, moral and physical development and improvement of children through the medium of football. In order to be successful it is necessary to implement a development programme that is comprehensive and continuous. This is a major contributing factor in the failure of Trinidad and Tobago producing quality players on a regular basis who can make a contribution to society even if they do not continue to play football at a professional level. In addition, it occurred to us that the breakdown of the religious, social and moral fabric of society is creating children who due to a lack of proper guidance are unable to make appropriate decisions or choices that would benefit them. As a result, the nations youth are not realizing their true potential.
