Starting and running the engine from my Roy Cox "O-Sixty Special" tether car. This is a later, bigger and rarer version of the engine in the "O-Forty-Five Special" .045 vs. .060 cu. in. Cox made the change in response to complaints that the .045 was underpowered, so he made the engine 150% larger in displacement. The engine was disassembled, cleaned and reassembled before running. No changes were made otherwise. I welcome any information about the "Special" tether cars you wish to share. Thanks for watching.

  • Amazing to see this O-Sixty Special Running. This engine is a later version of the 1949 O-Forty-Five power Pak (Special Racer Car Engine - Manufactured in 1949)

    Well done! great video.

  • @amenic1894 Glad you liked it. Sounds like you know your early Cox history. Did you see my other video of my "O-Forty-Five" engine running? BTW, I sold this engine, with its car in very good condition, on eBay to someone in Japan. I still have the "O-Forty-Five Special" car/engine, which I've treasured since it was given to me in the sixties.

  • Does the engine not have heating issues without anything forcing air to go throught the cylinder fins? I have a newer Cox Baja Bug Car engine, and i'm worried about overheating problems, I never let it run more than 15 seconds...
