The first time I heard this was at the Obama Grant Park victory celebration... they just played it without the lyrics (I think). It was also used as the background music to a video they played that nite. The music was really something that nite. Sound system was great too.

The song was used in Obama's election video "Signs of Hope and Change".
Maybe that is the video played that night!

@marciskiwd Thank you so much, i found the Obama video on here and saw it again... its one of the most inspiring and powerful videos I've ever seen and the music is stunning, perfectly matched, I like the instrumental version of Fake Empire almost better than the original... thanks for helping!!!

It is definitely one of his best election videos, and I agree, the music fits it perfectly. And even though the lyrics aren't in the election video, they still conform to the message quite well.
