Welcome to another help video by yours truly! This tutorial was created for the purpose of instructing and guiding newer players on how to do a Focus Attack Dash Cancel (FADC) *NOT HOW TO COMBO WITH IT* as simple as possible.

The breakdown summarized:

When FADC'ing out of a Shoryuken the focus attack buttons ( MP + MK ) must be pressed right after the Shoryuken comes out and as it's hitting the opponent. If done right, after making contact with the opponent you then instantly move into the focus attack animation canceling out the aerial portion of the Shoryuken. Dashing out of the focus attack then allows you to follow up with a juggle combo or ultra.

TIPS:

FADC uses 2 super bars to activate, which means the maximum amount of times you may use it is twice before having to refill your bar again. This prevents the use of your Super ability from being used since this requires the entire meter to be filled.

FADC is most commonly used to setup ultra finishers and in this video I demonstrate the most basic use of the technique, this is by no means it's full potential.

  • where did buy your stick

  • @slipknot861 playasia.com

  • Hi! im playing with a controller since SF 2 and im also pretty good with it! My bro gave me his stick for 3 days and i couldnt do anything! i had no feeling for it and i moved my hands like a robot, i didnt know how i should put my left hand on the stick...it wasnt comfortable at all :D...so i lost patience pretty fast and switched back to controller :) ...What i wanna know is...is it hard to learn perfect playing with a stick? how long time does it take if u practice 1-2 hours a day?

  • @izidor It does take quite a bit of adjustment going from a controller to a stick. For me, it took about 3 weeks to get comfortable with it where I was pulling off special moves and ultras without any problems. You really just have to accept that you'll be worse at the game for a period of time and just stick with it and practice. I honestly believe that when you've perfected it it's worth it, especially if you want to be super competitive. Good luck!

  • So does it have to be an EX move to do this? Or can you use regular shoryukens and etc. Because I saw ryu light up yellow as if he's doing an EX move between the shoryuken and FADC

  • @JTPlaya1029 You start with a normal shoryuken. The yellow flash is the canceling part of the FADC. The color indicates the usage of the special meter ( in this case 2 bars ).

  • Hey man thanx for the video ... I play with Cody can do all his fadc combos from right to left but can't even simple fadc in ultra one from left to right any advise ????

  • @ImperviousMason You are most likely retarded then.

  • This didn't teach me anything.

  • The fact that we have the same arcade stick and hold it the same way makes me very optimistic that I can bring out my longer fadc-combos as consistent as you... At the moment its like 1 out of 10 -.- Thanks for the vid!

  • @18supersonic oh yeah

  • Thanks for the tutorial ! !

  • Dear God, this is so easier said than done.

  • got my tourny stick in today along with ssf4 ae. tourny sticks are the way too go in fighting games. you gotta get used to the arcade sticks at first because I'm going through that now but the more I play, the easier the game play. much more smoothe too. I'll recommend an arcade stick to dedicated fighting 2d games

  • hi i have a question please respond asap if you could.i love street fighter but i really suck i was never able to win online or beat normal at all then i heard about the Super Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition S i hear from lots of people that this helps you do super and ultras etc better is that true?cause i really want to get super street fighter 4 arcade edition for 360 because of evil ryu and oni akuma:)so is the arcade stick recommended for beginners like me?
