Sorry for the bad quality.. Matt (guest-star Barry Watson) and Sarah (guest-star Sarah Danielle Madison) begin their student rotation in the ER, but get off to a bad start by arriving late and angering Dr. Norton (guest-star Dennis Boutsikaris), the attending ER physician. Matt and Sarah's relationship is tested when Matt quickly demonstrates an aptitude for the work, but Sarah accuses him of trying to make himself look better than the other students, especially her. However, Matt ends up looking foolish when he can't figure out how to turn off the ringer on his cell phone and he gets stuck fielding calls from his family. Matt's day ends tragically, leaving him to question his destiny.

  • i completely disagree with all of you..matt is doing the best out of anyone. he actually cares about his patients. that's what people need most in a doctor

  • @onlie2005 you obviously didn't get the whole point of this episode.

  • u get to see a different side of Matt.u normally see him as the big brother, he can do anything and not make a mistake.Matt makes plenty of mistakes in this episode. it shows he is human.some doctors can do what his boss did not care about his patients. maybe he cares to much.i can understand why matt had issues with the phone.it makes perfect sense when u come from a large family.i think matt just wanted one day where his family was not on his to do list. he is doing what he knows he can do.

  • i think sarah is the mean one in this episode

  • @12GaugeNippleRings It is not so much I got the point of the episode is that what observed about Matt. His attitude is not becoming of a doctor. I am not sure what you mean but I am merely stating my opinion. As to the point of the episode I do not know exactly what you mean.

  • Matt's attitude really stinks in this episode. I can understand the cell phone issues and the stupid family trying to call him at the most inopportune times. But arriving late and showing up the other med students. Yelling at the attending. Not listening to the more experienced doctors who have done ER work for years. Matt may mean well but he seriously must take a good look at himself as well.
