  • This is definitely from the summer of 2001. First Honda used exhaust that had only one exhaust pipe on the right side. Then they had this setup with two exhaust cans from May 2001, one on both sides. Then late 2001 they had the first version of one exhaust coming under the seat and one on the right side.

Rider on the footage is Kagu Kamada, other rider who did lot of testing in 2001 was Shinichi Itoh.

  • It's politics man, it's all politics. Maybe it's because it's a European sport they tend to supply them with better equipment. It just seems so strange that there has never been a Japanes Champion.

  • Unfortunately no, I feel there would have been one in Dajiro Katoh, he was a legend and would have won it by 2006 for sure!

  • Hi there, you are correct it was the prototype for 2002 Rc211v. This would have possibly been recorded mid 2001 because if you look at the exhaust system there isn't an under seat one which appeared on the 2002 model. Not sure who's testing it though, could be Ukawa

  • No, I think it's the 2002 RC211V,and it looks like Toru Ukawa is testing, but I think I'm wrong about that.

  • Question: Has there every been a Japanese Motogp Champ?

  • is this the 09 rc212 v?
