Baby Jools All Stars Algiers Strut

This version of Algiers Strut was recorded at The Harp Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire, England on Tuesday, March.31st. 2009 by Baby Jools All Stars.




Led by Julyan Baby Jools Aldridge on drums the line-up was, Matt Palmer on clarinet and sax, Denny Ilett on trumpet, Andy Holdorf on trombone, Tony Bagot on bass and Brian Mellor on banjo/guitar.
Unfortunately my camera card was full before the end of this number so we only get part of Jools solo, it is still worth watching.
Once again an excellent gig at the Harp where sessions are held every Sunday lunchtime and Tuesday evening.

This is nice. A very foot tapping number. Nice co-ordination and very tight (apart from the duff horn) Denny is very underated as was the clarinet and trombone. The banjo player is just as good on the guitar as he is on the ol banjo and would fit in with any combo, and the modest bassist should have a bit more limelight. The drummer, looks like the kid who plays in Max Collies outfit and is well up for it, he should go far, if a bit too long on the solo. Very good post, keep em coming.

He is bringing the band in to the Harp again on September 21st so I will try do do more video.
