yes, this is very nice, at least vocally:-)

One can't stop listening to this, again and again and again

Tre grandissimi cantanti, belle voci perfettamente fuse.

Sublime in all respects...Berry is the perfect sardonic Alfonso...Prey is at his bubbly best, and Alva is smooth as silk...a real good example of three immensely different voices combining with incredible attention to style and detail.

does alphonso hide in the toilets????!?

@urs1765 This film was directed by Vaclav Kasic who made several productions for german TV in the 60s and 70s like "Orpheus und Eurydice", "Eine Nacht in Venedig" and a wonderful film of "Hoffmanns Erzählungen" with Ion Piso and Sylvia Geszty - all of them in opulent decors.

who the hell directed this film? the staging and setting is absolutly gross as well as the costumes. everything seems totally unreal...
but the singing is beautiful anyway

Isn't Hermann Prey fabulous. His looks are as great as his voice.

How wonderful!! Whose staging is it? Rennert's? Prey and Berry are at their best... and ¡Bravo maestro Luchoo!! For me one of the very best Mozart tenors ever, with that delicate, beautiful, italianate sound and superb technique (and great looks at the time) I'll click on "aura amorosa" right away! Thank you sooooo much for posting!!
