Im thinink of buying the new Olympus Mju 8010 with a HD-video mode.. Will you recommend the Tough-series?

...The videos are as high quality as I can get them, as well, but they suffer in resolution to the still photos, especially if you increase the size of the screen. They also do not have a frame rate comparable to a video camera. However, when you put together the capabilities of the camera it is pretty awesome. Good luck. Shoot me a message when you post some for yourself...

Most of the video contains still photos panned with the Robert Burns effect. They are all as high-res as I can get them on the camera and you should be able to do better as your camera has a higher mp level than mine...

Thanks for the comment. Yes, I discovered the HQ button after I wrote the narrative. Should probably change it to be fair. I have a friend who bought the Tough 8000. If it is as good as the 790 SW it will be an awesome camera to have! Good luck! Let me know when you post some videos from the Tough 8000...

You can now click on HQ (bottom right of the screen) to view it in High Quality. Love the video! I'm about to get a Tough 8000.

I created the video using iMovie with my iMac, after putting it together with the stills and videos as previously mentioned in comments. I did create it as a larger Hi-Res video file and then uploaded to YouTube. Not sure what you are comparing to, but this may be the difference. I would think the tough 8000 would have better, if not at least comparable quality of raw photos/videos. Probably depends on on how the final product is edited and published.
