Video animation by Andrews Space showing its Peregrine concept for an operationally responsive space launcher. I love this one. It really loooks like it would work!

  • Yes. To take the vehicle to a high enough altitude to deploy the upper stage with its payload. The vehicle then glides back to lower altitude and restarts its jet engines to reurn and land back on the runway

  • I agree... I have looked at a lot of launch vehicle concepts/combinations and this is one of the best. however I would like to know why LOX injection for a jet engine would not work once it gets too high for the jet to get air from the atmosphere? remove the mass of the rocket engine and its hydrogen and replace it with LOX for the modified jets. kero is much easier to work with than hydrogen as you can make the fuel tanks any shape you like. and mount a minishuttle on the front.

  • Very good concept

  • cool idea, why did the rocket fire inside the plane? to get it to even a thinner atmosphere altitude with the help of the wing?
