  • That is so nice, you're getting a young bird. They are more easy to get them to love you than an older bird. They also learn to love to be scratched behind the head. Get him on a good diet, not just seeds. You should also spend absolutely as much time with them as you can, since a bored bird often resorts to sadly destructive behaviors, like feather-plucking. And they scream a lot when they want attention and aren't getting it. Males can talk! They love their humans. Good luck!

    No, he says it at the very beginning (really squeaky); I said it back to him to try to get him to say it again. I also tried to get him to say "chicken" but he refused. Too hungry I guess...:)

    Yeh there good fun and very cute,they can often be suprising - BUT always be gentle with them,make sure they go to bed at night not to late,regulary change there water and food etc mine sits on my shoulder a lot and cuddles up to me,there very loving pets.

  • Same here I'm getting two cockaetaills for Christmas . I just Wana know are they fun?? Like better then guinea pigs? Cuz I got a guinea pig an the fun just wore out.... Are cocktails the same way or are they like long time friends that are always with you and you bond with them moreeee kinda like a dog or a cat??? Does anyone get tired with there bird??? Please reply asap!
