PS3 Death

At about 7:53 P.M. Central time on October 04, 2008 my PS3 died. It was about a year old.

I was playing Soul Calibur 4 online when it suddenly shut itself off now it wont turn on again with my game trapped inside. All I get is the "yellow light of death" or the "blinking red light of death".

My warrenty expired so my only option is to send it off to Sony and pay for the repair (which at the moment I have no money and it will be a while).

*UPDATE*

I sent my PS3 in on October 31, 2008. Less then a week later Sony sent me a refurbished one.

*UPDATE 2*

For those who's PS3 has broken down and are watching this, it's quite possible that there may be nothing wrong with your PS3 and may need some cleaning (i.e. dust accumulation inside PS3). Check out the following video on how to clean a PS3:

@bubbahockey11 This means your PS3 is probably dead. I dont know if there is a fix for it. At least on your own. Only way to do so is buy calling up Sony and send it in for repair or find an electronics shop that knows how.

My 360 also died about a week ago. Good thing it's covered by the warrenty.

I do have a 360. I have both a PS3, which is now fixed, and a 360.

what the hell u guys talking bout 360 being better, had one for about 3 months before rrod showed up and fucked me over had my ps3 for bout 2 years and its never fucked up before good reliable system and you wont get fucked by 3 flashing lights

I have the slim. I thought that it wouldn't turn on, but it just turns out that I had the PS2 chords plugged in that look the exact same, yellow, white, and red hahaha.

But anyways, that sucks and I hope that you make the money to repair it and repair it.
