Ice Fishing Alberta- Sunday Jan 18 2009- 9 Rainbow Trout Taken Home- Beaver Mines Lake

Just a quick video of the 9 fish we decided to take home on Sunday. Didn't weigh them, all were over 12" (30 cm). We were kidding about them being 18-24", hence the laughing.

I can't think of any reason why you would keep a fish that size, so that you can prove to your friends you caught 9 fish? Did you actually go fishing for food? The time and money you spent fishing for those tiny dink fish you could have went to the grocery store and got some big fish for a fraction of the cost.

@nichead A reason why you wouldn't keep a fish that size??? They're rainbow trout my friend, not halibut, salmon, rockfish or lingcod (which I also have a freezer full of). They're not huge, but there is still enough meat on them to make it worth my time. What are you talking about money and grocery shopping for - are you a financial anyalyst? We go fishing for fun - have some drinks, a campfire and a good fucking time. Get a life troll. And fuck yes, they were incredible smoked.

@nichead Troll, stay off my page. Additionally, I am assuming you have no background in fish populations in waterbodies. Stocked lakes are filled with numerous fish, many of which would not survive without the dying off of and catching of numerous other fish, hence why taking fish out that aren't gigantic is not a problem on stocked lakes. We were within the scientifically set limits. Not to explain it to you like a child, but you sir, are in idiot and need to learn a thing or two.
