Kubrick's "The Killing" made around the same time is a far better movie.

What's poorly thought out about it, in saying that I don't think it's the seminal heist movie it's supposed to be and that the French crime movies of the day were essentially derivative of American cinema. You're the one who just puts down comments with little thought or explanation.
