If you dictate my life gotta watch what you say
Eight years of school just to pay bills all day?
Ain't Prada ain't nada- ain't nothin' to me
When you ain't got a dolla' then you see what I see
Built homes, built domes- towers scrape the sky
With shaky foundations built under a lie
Don't apologize- the end is nye- and did it all without a year in your eye
Commercial success- a war without stake
I break bread with you won't you give me a break?
But it wasn't enough, you wanted it all
Excuse me did you say your house was too small?
Its no wonder you fall- you can't hold a beat
You wouldn't last a minute walkin' down your own street
Life is more than consumers and products
There's beatniks and cheap tricks 'side prophets and martyrs
Shameful what you bring on us, schools made of sawdust
Does that teach us respect for our founding fathers?
While you stay at home and get rich all day
I work my hand in what I ain't got a say
Got bills I can't pay, and I can't get a raise
My boss said I was lucky just to be in this place
Can you spare a dime? Brother, save me some trouble
Instead you've driven my name to a puddle
And its all part of some cash revenue stream
Well I say just this- &$%!# The American Dream
