Barack Obama answering questions from community street agitators (aka community organizers) at the Iowa Heartland Presidential Forum on December 1st, 2007. Part 1
At 3:40 in the video Obama tells of his plan to take community organizing values to the White House. That would be the values of groups such as ACORN.
Some groups co-sponsoring the event include Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, Center for Community Change, Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church, Working Families Win, Gamaliel Foundation, National Training & Information Center, Progressive Coalition of Central Iowa, and others.

Insurance is selfish and bad. But government is even worse, because there is no recourse.

Is socialized healthcare going to force doctors and hospitals to reduce their fees?
No. Costs will go up, not down, as the cost of the massive government bureaucracy will be added to the medical costs. And all those costs will be paid for by seizing money right out of workers salaries.
Please explain how that can be a good thing.

"what are these hard working people supposed to do?"
Lobby your state government for a state program, scoreboard, done. You can't do this to the entire country, some of us still care about the tenth amendment, it's part of Your bill of rights for a reason. Cashing in rights for goodies is dangerous and violently niave.

unfortunately, no. Why should you or I be responsible for others complications. If people are so broke from the "economic crisis," how are we supposed to pay for everyones healthcare? Furthermore, in America, our "god given rights" are that of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," not heathcare. Healthcare is a good, not a right.

the problem with your comment is that you are uninformed.....have you ever heard of people being denied insurance because they have a pre-existing condition? It happens everyday. what are these hard working people supposed to do? People with severe disabilities, including mental disabilities, that are unable to work, should they not get healthcare either? What happened to the America of "Give us your poor, your tired, your huddles masses?"

the problem with public health care and our nanny society is it's just like spoiling your kids. if you don't work for something, why should you get it...if your child doesn't do his/her homework, do you treat them with desert, no...American's already pay for welfare, why pay for the non-worker's health care also
