  • This just showed up in USA today. Ordered it a little while ago for $49.99 free shipping. Do these things ever need re-calibrating?

  • Hey There: It shouldn't need to be recalibrated unless it gets dropped or otherwise manhandled. BTW, where did you see it in USA Today?

  • "First power on the unit"...duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

  • @tkdrumr I believe any torque wrench, except for the old-school beam type, needs regular calibration (I believe most shops recommend yearly calibration). I assume these guys use a load cell attached to a torsion bar, which should be pretty darn accurate... but... the way I think about it, is it worth saving the $25 to have it calibrated just so I end up snapping an exhaust bolt or under-torquing a ball joint?

  • Great tool! Have seen that these are available in Australia now!

  • Sorry, I meant that it appeared to be available in the United States yesterday (as opposed to New Zealand).

  • This tool will be available in New Zealand from the end of September 2009, at all serious tool stockists nationwide.

  • wow what a neat tool !!! great work fish keep up the good work team powerbuilt !
