White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs when questioned about the promise the president made "to not raise taxes in any form" couldn't give a strait answer! do you still believe Obama?

How about the Tobacco Tax for one? All these new government jobs and programs he created are going to have to be paid for somehow. I would jumped Bush's ass in 1988 if I wasn't a kid. People are criticizing the current leader, its our job to keep them in line. It'll do little good to criticize Bush now. Republican or Democrat doesn't make a difference, they're all full of it.

they havent gone up yet..thats the point they are making..bills are still be written and gibbs had a prime time to say the president is going to honor is pledge and that would have been the end of it...as far as the "read my lips no new taxes" i believe most americans right or left were upset by that.. :)

I didn't say I support Obama's policies; I was simply remarking at the attitude toward taxes found in america, which is extremely negative even though you guys don't have anywhere near OUR taxes, and we don't mind it, for the most part.

It is precisely because we get more tangible results from our tax money, and more to say regarding it's expenditure.

My father was one of those swedes who left. He has long regretted it, but doesn't want to come back to see Reinfeldt and the rest of the Alliance roll-back the rest of our remaining safety net. While the European Right continues to americanise Europe, what is the point in moving back? Might as well go to the states since we will be there soon anyway.
