Red food coloring is often made of Carmine dye which comes from the cochineal bug.
Carmine is used as a food dye in many different products such as juice, ice cream, yogurt, and candies, eyeshadow, lipstick, etc. Although principally a red dye, it is found in many foods that are shades of red, pink, and purple. As a food dye it has been known to cause severe allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock in some people.

oh yeah.. and I have also ate dried meal worms sold at some hippy store I went to a while ago, they didnt really taste like anything, just kinda a crunchy nothing, and then Iv eaten suckers with a scorpian in it, dry crunchy sugarary fun. :P

I went fishing one time and tried to gross out my partner, I ate a worm to prove my point that nothing grosses me out. It was suprisingly textured. :P

Your video says that the FDA doesn't require that carmine be disclosed. Just wanted to update you that as of Jan 2011, the FDA requires carmine and cochineal coloring to be disclosed. I know your video was made in 2008 though. Thanks for the info
