I'm probably about the only person who likes this. I saw this one before the original when I was a kid so I guess that explains it. The Orginal's the best no doubt but I like this one. I will get hated on for saying this but who cares?

No, it didn't ruin the first movie, nothing could do that. But whoever wrote "No Belushi, no Blues Brothers" was right. I like many others have seen the original hundreds of times. It's a springboard to everything good from humor to music. It's been with me all my life. The opening scene of this movie ripped my heart out. It just never came anywhere close in any way to the original. Jake and Elwood forever.

This movie was great. People expect too much with sequels like this. It's just a fun movie with good music... enjoy it on it's own merit and stop comparing.

It has a tremendous lineup of talent and performances. Roger Ebert said it should have been a concert film held in chicago instead. I, however, enjoyed the silly humor it had to offer.

Yes your quite right. It does help to watch this one first in some cases, I learned more about the original from watching this one than doing it the other way around. I liked this one better when I was a kid, mainly because it was it's own thing and was creative.

I was actually bored with the original one the first time I watched it, but I re-watched it when I got older and loved it. They are two different beasts but they work in their own ways. This movie just gets hated on too much.

Blues 2000 was excellent on the first time I saw it, and I also watched this one before the other one just like you did. Its more surprising and original if you watch the new one first and then the old one. The new one is special but it goes over a lot of the things from the first movie and it has to explain why everyone is dead and who is gonna take their places. People who saw the original might very well have some issues here.
