The song was inspired by the mountain bike trail at Farmdale Reservoir in East Peoria, IL. The stills, taken by Will Spicher, are from key points along the trail. The Ride ©2007 Willsongs. Edited in The Ugly Little Studio of Mike Kerby & Associates.
@MattS6993 Sorry, but the only bike shots are at 1:28, 1:53, and 3:32. I meant to capture what I see when I ride, and I seldom look at my 16-year-old bike (though everything but the frame has been replaced, LOL).

@gnpahdc I had to dive into Mission Control (Digitech RP20) to find out. Yes, the 12AX7 tube is set to "warm clean", but the compressor output is boosted 7db, so the tube is being mildly overdriven. Then some crunch comes from digging the thick pick into the string windings, slightly scraping across before releasing. I use palm muting to govern how "free" the note is to ring. Pickup is panned 75% to the bridge side. Fender lace sensors, not humbuckers, but they humbuck when combined. Good ear!

Sounds like a little bit of crunch on the bass. Humbuckers, tubes, or an effect? Or am I hearing something else?

@gnpahdc Yep, sliding into the D from C. Had to get one to compete with the keyboard players. :)

So, I hear a low "B" string, right?
