Timelapse Moonrise over Wichita KS, 7-17-2008

I decided to do a timelapse of the moon since there haven't been any neat storms to capture recently. It was a perfect evening for sitting outside all evening; a slight breeze to blow away the mosquitoes and it kept the temperature in the lower 80s.

I had been thinking about doing the video for a week prior to doing the shot and scoped out several locations to do it. The Keeper of the Plains was what I had originally intended to capture in the shot, but due to the moon track this month, there was no place for me to set up and get it in the viewfinder...also the powerlines around the keeper are far from photogenic.

I know it's hard to see due to the low res on here, but if you look close Jupiter is tracking across the sky ahead of the moon.
