  • No gyrocopters (Bensen Trademark) are in this video. Gyrocopters are autogyros and have non-powered autorotating blades.

  • this isn't an auto giro [unpowered blades] this is a giro copter.

  • @JUNKYARDOGvideos gyrocopters (bensen trademark) are autogyros and of course also have unpowered, autorotating blades. No gyrocopters are in this video.

  • It was made over 60 years ago you fucking idiot. You aren't smart enough to figure out that technology back then wasn't as advanced as technology we have today? You aren't smart enough to figure that out?

  • You are an angry bitter little child. Grow up kid.

  • @alnotz Not so. It was in fact an AUTOGIRO experimentally fitted with blade tip rockets to enable vertical take off and hovering over a target to drop depth charges. The german Focke Angliss Drache helicopter was used operationally by the Germans during WW2 and the German Navy operated the Flettner helicopter as ship bourne observation aircraft

  • Gentlemen, this is the 21st Century. The age of commmunications. Age of the internat and instant access! look up History of the HELICOPTER, quite differant from the HISTORY of the Autogyro! Knock off the petty bickering!

  • were any helecopter type aircraft ever used during any country duing ww2 in combat or any action other than testing ? germany had some i think

  • Ka-Go was not autogyro, or at least not fully. It had powered rotor. As you can see from this video. If not the first helicopter, but the first employed in actual combat!

  • Both Kayaba-types was derivatives of the American Kellet KD-1 autogyro. The Kayaba Ka-1 saw action in 1942 as submarine chaser onboard the "Akitsu Maru", an ex-freighter.

  • Both Kayabas was a derivatives of the American Kellet KD-1 autogyro.

  • Very cool! I love autogyros! I was just on here looking for some footage I found a while back....its of a WWII German autogyro or early helicopter (I seem to remember that the footage said helicopter, but was actually of an autogyro, but my memory might be wrong) All I do remember is that I THINK it was here on YT, and that it was B&W & similiar to this footage, except the heli/autogyro was doing some really amazing acrobatics. If anyone thinks they know the clip, Id be greatful for a link!
