He plays with in-ears. Ultimate ears if I'm not mistaken. An he tapes them in cause he headbangs like a freakin nutcase.

Aaron is one of my favorite drummers and there are drummers that are at the pro level and have better technique and I believe that technique is a important aspect of drumming...BUT you don't HAVE to use it. Music is Art and Art is an Expression of Feeling. If you play but theres no feeling, rawness, passion then what are you doing? I think Aaron does a great job of playing...you play how you want to play...he does...the drum police aren't going to get you...MUSIC...drumming is freedom

the sweet thing about aaron live is that he was always the same yet different. he kept the same basic structures of songs..but would replace different areas with more intense beats... use more double bass and create really interesting fills. he has a shitload in his arsenal.... but he never came across as show-offy
