If you've no idea what thalidomide is, or why the narrator seems so bent out of shape about it, look up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thalidomide . The message here is rather heavy-handed, and one gets the impression that you're supposed to leave the theater feeling uplifted about woman's noble purpose in the world. It's a testament to changing values that it seems, to modern eyes, a bit gaudy.

Filmed around 1962, from the Italian documentary "La Donna Nel Mundo." Narrated in English by Peter Ustinov, its aim is to explore how different life is for women in the many cultures of the world.

  • Trig Palin is coming along nicely, don't you think? The spitting image of his father, John McCain. Except his arms are longer. And his cheek is still smooth as a baby's butt, no wait, I just saw it growing as I typed this. It's alive, like John McCain's cheek. Cheek-to-cheek.

  • @Nesa2012 throw her ass in jail or kill her

  • @OrinBoborin, Thank you,...I wasn't trying to be funny. I don't make a joke out of suffering......wish I could say the same for so many christians I know.

  • @GeniusIQ150 As I said in another comment, it's strange to see people so easily oscillate between mercy and murder. Just because a 60s Mondo documentary is black and white I don't think we need to be. I'd be pretty interested to get an opinion from a Thalidomide victim.

  • @Etchadoodle This is by far the most controversial video from the movie. It's strange to see people so easily oscillate between mercy and murder. Just because a 60s Mondo documentary is black and white I don't think we need to be. I'd be pretty interested to get an opinion from a Thalidomide victim.
