Bellydance wasn't for seduction....it was a traditional folk dance basically. It was danced for entertainment not to get others off!
& yes there are some AMAZING male bellydancers out there!

@JayTj2 Oh yeah, because this is totally bellydance! /sarcasm just in case you didn't get it like with @MuddyRogue.This is Tribal Fusion, contains elements of bellydance, but its NOT bellydance. And Bellydance is for seduction not to be "feminine", did you know even men practice it? There's tons of different ways of seducing someone, not just by being all demure or by being all over your man. Powerful, strong women seduce men more than demure little ones. Oh, I made a mistake. I meant REAL men.

real belly dancing was only danced by women and for women. it wasn't until it got Americanized in the 20's and 30's with glitz and glamour. since then it has grown to be a fusion of other dance forms, its not at all butch or rock. i think you need to get your facts right before you criticize the origin of belly dance.
