This tutorial will show you how to create a Tropical Kiwi fruit cane, which can be used for miniature dollhouse food, miniature food jewelry, Japanese Deco Den, Kawaii crafts..etc.

I created this method for creating Kiwi. It may not be perfect, but you can adjust to fit your needs:)

AIR BUBBLES IN YOUR CANE:
You can remove the air bubbles once you've assembled the cane and begin to reduce. Squeeze for a few moments (starting at the center of the cane, then moving towards the edges) look at your cane and see if you see any air bubbles (the clay will bubble up in some places where air is trapped) and you can pierce them with your razor blade to release the air.

You can also try to make sure that as you assemble the cane that all the sides are touching smoothly without any air trapped. It's much easier to do this if you work slowly. Treat the cane like a puzzle, so that all the sides touch completely as if they are made to fit together:)

  • how long do you bake your canes? i always over bake mine ):

  • @kookiekruncher It could be the brand you're using. Sculpey tends to burn, katoclay doesn't:) Try baking then until their hard, which shouldn't take long because their so small:)

  • @ToniEllison...Small Correction, Sculpey also has glow in the dark clays, they sell it in a Glow in Dark 6 piece color set (glow- green, pink, yellow, orange, blue and white) I love ur tutorials by the way, I'm an avid watcher of ur videos... I create as well and u help when I have "Brain Farts" lol... Keep up the great work can't wait to see more from you...

Fimi DOES, however, carry a nice selection of the colored transparents. Ben Franklin crafts carries it, Trans yellow, pink, orange, lt.bl

  • @MomEof310 WOW! I didn't know that! At my local craft stores I've only seen the basic glow in the dark (greenish yellow?). I'll have to try the others!! Thanks for letting me know:)

  • wat kind of glow in the dark did u use ...wat brand? wat brands and color did u use for the kiwis

  • @youdarlene505 Katoclay translucent, and any green:) Don't worry about the Glow in the dark (BTW Fimo is the only brand that makes Glow in the dark)

  • i buy canes off ebay

    $3 for like 50

  • @919etc read up about reducing canes. Your colours smear when you roll rather than squeeze to reduce. A sharp blade also helps.

  • when mine is all rolled out and redy to cut, the inside collors are all smerred together:(

  • wheres the mute button when you need it
