A 28th Amendment to stop socialism needs to be proposed. Congress should consider drafting a 28th amendment to the US Constitution that would put a percentage cap on federal income tax except for emergency war purposes or other temporary emergencies.

Allen you have the right view on Church and State. True many of the founders were influenced by the Bible. But everything had to pass the test of reason. The same is true today. There are many recourses that law-markers can use including religious writings. Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Confucius (none Christian) the Bible, and probably every other religious writing has something worth while to contribute. But whatever it is it must pass the test of reason to become law.

Some liberals claim free market capitalism is driven by evil greed. However this is not accurate. Free market capitalism is driven by thriftiness. The word greed is used by liberals to instill a sense of guilt for being thrifty---a Christian virtue. Whenever you hear a liberal use the word greed to condemn free market capitalism try replacing it with thriftiness and see if it fits better.

Here's a kamikaze congressman's thought process. If we can just get universal health care passed the people will like it. It will be like Medicare where no candidate who wants to abolish it can win. And then in the end we will be the heroes. But just because the people will like it doesnt mean its a good thing. Its like someone putting you on cocaine. When youre on it you like it and dont want to give it up. It's easy to get on it (socialism & drugs) but very hard to get off it.
