Took me quite some time, but at last, my second AMV is ready for viewing by the masses. ^.^

Yes, it is also very short. Yes, it is also a FF7 video. But don't think I'm stuck in a rut just yet! I'm moving out of my FF7 phase into my Weird Al phase-- two Weird Al AMVs are currently in progress! (I've actually been working on one of them off and on for nearly a year, but I got sick of waiting to finish it and did this one in the meantime.) Again, I apologize for the subtitles, but I really couldn't find a downloadable version of this OVA without them. Sorry.

I felt this theme suited the characters of FF7 so well, particularly in terms of how one terrible nightmare completely changed their lives. I actually started out on this project intending to make some action-oriented screen candy, but the focus shifted during the editing process. Don't you just love it when projects take on a mind of their own?

Anyway, the English lyrics for the central theme, "Romance Romanesque", are below. Enjoy!

"Romance Romanesque"

If we hadn't met back then
I wouldn't have been kept up by nightmares
If you hadn't been born into this world
I never would have known jealousy or suffering
What you wanted was
someone the complete opposite of me.
You could see a deep red thread connecting us...
I'm a blue thread
Go ahead and touch
This heart of mine...
went off and fell in love
went off and got itself hurt...
Don't you touch me.
If this love can never work
I'll simply end up
with a deep blue bruise in my heart.

  • Interesting. I'd try to remove the subtitles, and since the song is in Japanese, it's hard to follow what exactly the message is that you're trying to tell. Also, the music seems far too upbeat for what's being displayed -- again, probably a problem with the fact it's not in a language I understand. Good editing, though.
