The people aboard this modern-built, three-masted,square-rigged ship out of Holland, are currently commemorating the 200th anniversary of the great Charles Darwin's birth in 2009, by a ten month journey retracing the course of his epic voyage aboard 'The Beagle' (1831-1836) .It was during this trip that Darwin's biological observations set him thinking towards his later to be published 'Origin of Species' ideas and ultimately his iconoclastic theories of natural selection & evolution. Now we Aussies also have to thank C.D.for this unique opportunity to view at first hand this marvellous vessel in our own waters! Sail on safely and joyously, Stad Amsterdam, and thanks to you & your crew for a wonderful experience!
