Perry Como and the Buffalo Bills, singing "If You were the Only Girl in the World", from Como's show in 1957. I'm reposting it, as the other copy seems to be gone from YouTube.

The rib that Al Shea gives Como about knowing barbershop harmony was an inside joke: Como was, in fact, a barber before embarking on his singing career.

Note to moderators: this show is believed to be in the public domain.

  • thanks for re-posting...i thought we had lost it forever.

it's one of my most favorite on YouTube.

Absolutely marvelous harmonies....they don't make 'em like this anymore.

    thanks again !!

  • Barbershop at its best: a rich & full sound, a good laugh here, a tear there, a frank camaraderie without any vanity whatsoever. It's all about the music, it's just perfect.

Thank you for reposting this wonderful video, certainly one of favorites on YouTube. I'm making a copy of it in case it's taken down again.

  • I have goose bumps. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • My dad loved the Buffalo Bills Howard Rinkel was my step dad and I was 10 when the Gaynotes won the International Championship 1958. I remember sitting on the floor many times listening in surround sound as they practiced. Best seat in the house. He passes on Jan 27, 2012 Dad was 84 and lived a great life. We are proud of him and celebrate his life knowing he is now singing with the Angels and the Buffalo Bills in the heavenly chior. Thomas Joe (Utley) (Rinkel) Gray
