he played truman capote...his voice was SO ANNOYING. i just wanted to know if he really had a queer voice like that. but nope he played a good gay role then.

I got hip to Phillip when he was in the PBS documentary about the American Revolutionary War (yeah that far back). He's the shit. He makes you want to get into acting.

PSHoffman is a brilliant actor. I first saw him in Nobody's Fool with Paul Newman. He played an uptight police officer with anger management issues. Since then, I've realized Hoffman can do or play anything. On the surface, PSH seems like a modern day Spencer Tracy because his acting is effortless...very natural. But underneath that simple facade lies a complicated artist with an edge. He IS among the best actors of our time. Very appealing on every level.

I've been wracking my brain trying to decipher that very familiar face at 0:41....Cara Seymour, who played Christie in "American Psycho."

Just in this era alone your saying he is a better actor than a Tom Hanks? Bold statement but you did say it was your personal belief. He is up there but to think he is the best actor of all time is quite delusional...Then again that is just my belief

I would say definitely one of them. However, Jimmy Stewart probably has it for me. But, he's my favorite living actor.
Philip Seymour Hoffman=hottest/sexiest man alive, not to mention the best actor of our time.
