"Why A Mount?" is a 4 part program, covering:
* Why a mount is necessary - a USER's perspective and a CLINICIAN's perspective.
* Considerations in selecting a particular mount
* Strategies to get funding for mounts
* Why use a mount? (From both perspectives) "Why a Mount?" is designed to give people a head start on picking a mount, figuring out the funding process and learning more about why a mount is such a valuable tool! "Why A Mount" will have a mount on hand along with Industry Expert Dianne Goodwin co-speaking with Alin Steglinski, consumer advocate. Alin will speak from the USER's perspective and Dianne will speak from practitioner perspective. She has a wealth of experience in assistive technology service delivery and the AT industry. The session will offer an in-depth look at mounts and why they are valuable tools. Become immersed in the session and you or your clients will benefit!
"Why A Mount" will have a few mounts available for demonstration and discussion. "Why A Mount" will explain how to obtain a mount successfully and use it correctly and also how to use a mount as a tool for people to be more engaged in learning and the community and other areas. "Why A Mount" will have focal interest on funding along with actual usage of the mount along with time spent on obtaining the mount through DME suppliers. It will not be intended to sell mounts.
From simply mounting a standard laptop computer to complex arrays of switches and systems for a profound disability we will have answers.
"Why A Mount" will have a extended Q.A time for people to ask questions and get answers from a mount user, Alin Steglinski and a Practitioner and President of BlueSky Designs, Dianne Goodwin.
This is an exciting presentation. Don't miss it!
There will be powerpoint slideshows, live discussion and some limited hands on experience.
This is a FREE Video of the ENTIRE Raw Speech!
Really cool seminar. It really is odd how people out of the loop never take into consideration what's behind the scenes as to how things work.
Great video with some real insight into what's happening.
