@lope6996 I'd imagine unless the seas are really rought the effect is negligible given the size of the ships versus the relatively small volume of water...

do they empty the pool to get ride of the free surface effect, or dont bother..

Yes they do close the pool on Oriana.....and in fact all of the P&O ships if the Officer of the Watch deems it necessary.

i was on oriano on 8th july me 5th cruise and they have never closed a pool of before cus of rough sea the deck was flooding.
