  • Has funding been approved for this? What are the projected Start and Finish dates? Hopefully soon. Looks good!

  • @davezvids funding has been approved for this project. Construction started in November of last year and the completion date is 2015.

  • so how close is this to the now current design? There is no way that much concrete can be going in where the current 820 is now.

  • @davidc805 Fairly close. Additional right of way has been acquired along IH 820 and we will be filling in the current median with some of the lanes shown in the animation. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  • Let me restate my question, becuase I had my directions and number of railroad bridges confused. There are actually 2 railroad bridges over the highway. One on each side of 377. The UPR line west of 377 does show access roads in both directions under the tracks. The Cotton Belt line east of 377 shows no access roads in either direction. Was it not possible to build out the access roads under the Cotton Belt line?

  • @yoda8986 A frontage road cannot be provided between US 377 and Iron Horse Drive because of the property impacts to the City of North Richland Hills Iron Horse golf course and Haltom City’s North Park. There are Federal restrictions of how much impact a new or reconstructed highway can have on public space (parks, schools, etc.)

  • @kennybob7 It can be a little over whelming at first, but it shouldn't be that hard to navigate. On the new managed lanes we are adding there will be 3 new entrances eastbound, 2 eastbound exits, 2 westbound entrances and 2 westbound exits. The maintenance expense all falls on the developer who is maintaining all 13.5 miles of this new corridor, not on the Texas Department of Transportation. With this added capacity it should be easier to navigate than it is now when there's a wreck.

  • This is sooooooo much more complex than it needed to be. This will translate into added construction and maintenance expense. Gonna be fun responding to wrecks through this maze too.

  • Will there be Eastbound access roads under the railroad bridge? The western view shows them there. But the view from the East shows the Eastbound access road ending prior to the railroad like it does today.

  • @mr8ones the proposed new highway will have an exit for Haltom Road going EB and WB on Hwy 820. It does appear at this time that Westgrove will have access to the frontage road. You'll have to go past Denton Hwy 377 to get back on the Hwy 820 EB or turn around at Denton Hwy 377and get on after Haltom Rd heading WB.
