  • I actually did an assignment at school in health class about Angelman Syndrome. I was 17 at the time, and I just find mental conditions and disorders to be fascinating. I don't think it's really a mystery diagnosis anymore if I found it at school :)

  • @TheDukeofMania That's the point, Duke. We don't WANT Angelman Syndrome on the backburners... we want to raise AWARENESS about it. I want it more known about than autism! And it IS still a Mystery Diagnosis when I hear about children that are 3-4 years old that are JUST getting diagnosed.

  • @Rubystars1000 True. There are some doctors that are total butts, but not all of them are. In fact, mine's actually very nice. However, it bugs me when doctors say things like," It's all in your head" or "I don't know what's wrong with you." Do some CSI work and figure it out!

  • It's documentaries like this which make me absolutely not trust doctors. I always question what they say and try to find out as much as I can on my own about any advice they give me. Doctors are often very arrogant and I can't stand that attitude from them. You go to them for a service, they need to act like someone who is serving you, not someone lording over you.

  • WHY cant doctors just listen to there patients?. If they took it more serousley, and listened to all the problems they probably would of been able to find out what was wrong alot sooner. When ever a kid is having this amount of problems at her age, it should be taken serosley.

  • @TheDukeofMania The point of this show is not that the disorders are rare. A ton of them are. But there has been pretty basic ones on here like common cancers. It's that the doctors and the family could not find out what was wrong with them, so angleman may not have been a mystery to you but to this family, it was.

Also, angleman is still very rare and not well known about. Like it's already been said, autism and downs syndrome has much more infortmation than angleman.

Just by clicking the like button, twenty people have broadcasted this video on their channels. 24,235 views is more than all but one of my youtube videos. This is one of many videos about Angelman Syndrome I found. Though I agree with you, it needs attention, and a lot of it.

  • @Rubystars1000 Go to the hospital, go to the ICU, and see how many people doctors DO help, and how many people they DO diagnose correctly. When you try to find out as much as you can on your own, I assume webMD and Wiki are your main sources. When you or a loved one is on their death bed, and needs a procedure done like a coronary bypass, I would love to see you tell that surgeon, that you do not "trust" him. This is laughable and can only come from an uneducated and misinformed individual.

  • View Angelman syndrome kid beats the odds, here on you-tube to listen to Dr. Weeber, comment on his research. There is hope!

  • Youtube deleted my first comment because I mentioned the name of the most famous AS parent. His close support of FAST[ Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics] is well known. I just think their web site's What is AS-facts might be helpful to some parents. Dr. Edwin Weeber research holds much promise, he is director of science for FAST. The un-named celebrity's son walked at 4, does some signing and is main-streamed in a West LA school doing well. He does phys and speach theraphy.

  • Hey cool! I'm the 20,000th viewer! Ha!

  • Like, this video is hosed because it was transferred in the worst possible way: an absolutely horrible poorly-framed screen shot. What were you folks thinking? Way to go, babes!
