Sam Vaknin's expertise on Narcissism is second to none, the same can not be said for his expertise on other disorders. His Narcissistic Projection leads him to make sweeping generalizations while projecting his own personal failings, or to posture his own disorder against others for the sake of self aggrandizement.

It is impossible for Sam Vaknin to become personally detached and draw conclusions objectively, because everything he says thinks or does becomes an extension of his ego. As such when his presumptuous guess work and sweeping generalizations on other disorders are challenged he feels that his very identity is under siege. His response is to the perceived threat is to immediately silence criticism and censor it from public sight, protecting his self imagined illusion of omniscience.

The Narcissist needs to feel important, introverted narcissists may be reclusive but they feed off of attention and even negative attention can feed their grandiose self image. That someone even bothers to focus on them, even when it angers them, puts them at the center of the universe if only for a second. So in a way, this video is sort of like a charity.

  • He said he has no emotions but then feels invalidated and rages.

  • @takumaisakuma1 lulz, narcissists generally have limited empathy and social emotions due to extreme intergroup bias, and a rather unhealthy way of looking at the world. Narcissists view everything as either an extension of themselves, or with complete indifference, or if it annoys them or doesn't do what they want eventually with malice and disgust.

Well adapted narcissists are a rarity and high function SAN's are even rarer, I think Sam may also be a sociopath.

  • Dear sam Vaknin has OCD, too. Look at his neorokynesthics. His shaking hands or his repeating of himself or correcting of spoken words. Some sort of neurasthenia, I think.

  • @Calucifer13 Yeah, Sam's impressive in how well adapted he is despite having all the symptoms, I suspect he predates on other narcissists, I was gonna troll him but he swiftly blocked me. Shoulda just had a conversation with him, he'd be interesting to talk to.

  • @Laughingblades You should have had THE conversation with him, or I..? I was said by my ex-shrink that I am so hyper-reasonable that I would be able to beat to death other person just with my proofs.

  • @Calucifer13 I shoulda, it would have been interesting to talk to him :3

  • I'm a narcissist, and 7:23 - 7:45 is exactly why I choose not to do therapy.

  • Sorry, doesn't pass the smell test in narcissism department.

  • @Calucifer13 I troll'd Sam Vaknin a bit but SAN's fascinate me, and lol yeah Tom Cruise is a good example. Newt Gingrich is another, though he's less comical.

  • I am a girl, a self aware narcissist with sociopathic traits. And yes, I am in some perverse way proud of being one. Do you wanna know some famous narscisist with lack of empathy and ense of grandiosity? Look at Tom Cruise XD (TC: "The shrinks dunno the roots of psychiatry, I do.") WTF..? :-)))
