This...greatest band in Jazz..period, they were reading each..others minds...alomst telepathic..sense...Philly Joe , paul . Red.....wow!!!!..tight as gnats arse....and Miles..playing tunes with such an innocent sound....and big...Tenor sound..of John..to contrast....wonderful..!!!

@Parvenu333 Buffoon? well i think thats kind of strong, look i love miles as much as the next trumpeter , but i think Marsalis just enjoys playing this stuff. kind of narrow minded to knock him

These guys played swing the way that it was meant to be played. It's no question why Miles chose to go off in such a different direction later on in his career - he had already dominated the territory. There was nothing left to be done; this... is IT.
Buffoons like Marsalis think that they can play swing better than this. There is no topping this - we can only move forward. Swing will never be played better than these men played it.
