I want to learn how to breed comet goldfish. I have 6 of them right now and I've had them for a little over a year now. I have a Red Eared Slider and it'd be a lot easier to already have some fish to feed it with me instead of taking a 30 minute to an hour long drive to go buy some at my pet store. Any advice?

If you want to breed some goldfish just for fun, I would suggest getting a quality set of them ($30+ each) and then breeding them.
In an outdoor pond, they will breed around spring.

Well...
First of all, you shouldn't keep any comets in a 55g aquarium, especially when they're that size. If you want to breed them, I would suggest a large pond.
But why do you want to breed them? While they may be 'cool' or whatever, they are not of show quality, so the babies will be virtually worthless. A good goldfish spawn (especially coming from comets that size) could contain 500 babies if raised correctly. Trust me, nobody will buy the babies.

any luck of them breeding?

@oscarfight unfortunately no, im not sure if it is due to the temp of the water or the fact that we have added several other large comets into the 55 gallon.
