One of the best songs ever written, and she does the best version.
I think it might be said was the reason Obama got elected was so Aretha could sing Amazing Grace at an inauguration. Need I say anymore?

Rev Franklin was an icon in Detroit and through radio broadcasts throughtout the country. Sad the way he died. At the hands of some punk doing a home invasion. If your from Mich. you won't forget that!

she performed that song the way it was supposed to be performed. Simon and Garfunkel (maybe unintentionally) wrote a hymn when they wrote "bridge over troubled water" and Franklin brought the spirituality of it to fruition.
