How'd you get to drag race at laguna seca ?

They used to have an event called "Beat the Heat" there with 1/8th mile drag racing... pretty sure they stopped having it because people driving recklessly, some fights broke out, etc. They had cop cars that they pulled the exhaust off of, another they supercharged, etc. so it didn't seem like they were planning on as short of a run as it turned out. Think this was back in like 01? 02?

take into consideration that most cop cars have cages and equipment loaded inside. they are gonna get weighed down. street racers tend to gut their cars.

@Smokie420ish you are smoking more than just weed if you actually think "a lot of these hybrids could beat an ls1". Stock ls1's are known for 12 sec bone stock cars. Hell, are most hybrids even hitting 14 seconds? Or 15s for that matter.

@Smokie420ish dude you're high, LS1's are putting down 300-310 stock all day long. There are even a few 6 speeds that have hit the 330 mark bone stock. My LS1 is running mid 12's show me a hybrid under 100 grand that can get close to that. I'm still waiting on your proof of all cop cars have an intercooler...Quit talking out of your ass and check the facts.

@cozzey05 Wow your LS1 is controlled by an electrical current. A motor converts electrical energy into mechanical. An engine uses internal combustion to make power. There is a difference. No LS1 stock puts down 300 to the wheels. You do realize a hybrids electric motors never lose any power to the wheels. Their power curve never drops off like gas or diesel jobs do.

@Smokie420ish not every manufacturer underrates their motors, GM did it because of the corvette. Fbodies have the same tuning and everything the Vette has. LS1's are rated at 305 but in reality they actually put down about 300 to the wheels BONE stock. No hybrid under 100 grand is going to keep up with my LS1. I understand plenty about the LS motors, check my videos and you'll see my WS6.

@cozzey05 My friend has a 94 LT1 and it is not a Z28 it is a RS LT1. Every manufacturer under rates their vehicle. They do it for insurance purposes and noise. Thanks ik how to drive my Z28. No shit 350 to the crank will get you 275-285 to the wheels. It is called parasitic loss. The engine has to turn all it's accessories and drive train.Trust me LS1s are as fast as they use to be. Hell a lot of these hybrids could keep up if not beat one.

@Smokie420ish The B4C package is rated at 310 hp, all LS1 fbodies are underrated and really around 350. The autos came with 3.23 gears but other than that nothing special. Unless the officer modded his it's just an average LS1. Maybe you should learn to drive your Z? I can send a link to the brochure if you'd like.

@cozzey05 Lol I think you better read your statement again. I have friends with B4C packaged Camaros that out run my Z28. It is the tuning software they throw in the EEPROM for the B4C packaged Camaros that giving them more power. For the most part you are right the add weight offsets the added power, but a B4C packaged Camaro wouldn't weigh much more than a normal Z28. They don't have cages to hold people in. All they are made for is to case down people with so called fast cars.

@Smokie420ish dumbass, police cars may have a LITTLE if any more power than its civilian model but that is usually offset by the added weight. A Z28 will outrun the B4C (camaro cruiser). And your intercooled statement is simply ignorant

@JEDI7ACEN oh please, 140 mph seems about right for 250 hp. Your average midsize sedan can hit 140 these days. If I had to pick a place to run the interstate would be my first choice. People love these POS cars way too much.
