At this point, graffitti is a world-wide phemonenon, not just something found in Anthology's bathroom. Ramos' documentary is set in Sao Paulo, Brazil where taggers, a.k.a. "pixadors", are just as busy beautifying the urban landscape as they are here. With a look completely unlike North American graffiti, the Brazillian style of tagging appears like a modern version of an ancient code, filled with sharp angles, simple lines and enigmatic abstract symbols. Pixador follows the young writers on their nightly expeditions, trailing them as they climb walls, jump fences and cruis e around town in search of the perfect empty wall. Documenting the con text of vernacular architecture and design in Brazil, Pixador provides a look at a global street art with a uniquely local incarnation. "This documentary, in giving voice to the writers and showing them in action, tries to give an esthetical and esthetical dimension to the expression of a youth considered to be dirty, barbaric and unwanted by the media, unfolding the look that these youngsters cast upon the population- their political perspective." - G. Sinopse (texto de 2000)
O documentário Pixador é uma aventura de criação onde diversos olhares se encontram e se misturam compondo um vídeo caleidoscópio que trata do fenômeno da pixação.
Apesar desse fenômeno ser mostrado na cidade de São Paulo, no Brasil, a pixação é um tipo de manifestação que pode ser vista em todas cidades grandes do mundo.
Realizado com orçamento zero, o vídeo se faz valer das diferentes texturas dos suportes com que as imagens foram sendo gravadas: High8, Beta, Super 8 e fotografias fixas.
Este documentário, ao dar voz aos pixadores e mostrá-los em ação, tenta dar uma dimensão estética e ética para a expressão de uma juventude considerada suja, bárbara e indesejável pela mídia, descortinando o olhar que estes jovens lançam sobre a população - sua perspectiva política.
O documentário visa abrir um espaço para o diálogo, para o entendimento das relações que o pixador estabelece com o meio ambiente urbano, enquanto sujeito-autor.
A relevância deste documentário pode ser a de se oferecer como espelho de seu tempo, onde a sociedade civil pode se reconhecer através desta expressão juvenil, os sintomas de suas contradições.

Pixador's synopsis (2000):
The documentary Pixador is a creation adventure where different looks meet and blend, composing a video kaleidoscope which deals with the graffiti phenomena. Although this phenomena is shown in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, graffiti is a kind of manifestation that can be seen in all the big cities around the world.
Made possible with a nil for a budget, by film students at Universidade de São Paulo, the video seizes the different textures of the media through which the images where recorded: High8, Beta, Super 8 and still pictures.
This documentary, in giving voice to the writers and showing them in action, tries to give a esthetical and ethical dimension to the expression of a youth considered to be dirty, barbaric and unwanted by the media, unfolding the look that these youngsters cast upon the population - their political perspective.
The documentary aims at opening up room for dialog, for the understanding of the relationships that the writer establishes with the urban environment as a subject-author.
The relevance of this documentary could be for offering itself as a mirror for its era, where civil society can recognize through this juvenile expression, the symptoms of its contradictions.
