Canada demands Fox apology for 'despicable' comments

OTTAWA - The Canadian government has demanded an apology from Fox News for "dispicable" comments made on one of its late-night programs.
The government was incensed by a recent talk-show segment on the American conservative cable network that poked fun at Canada and the Canadian military. A group of pundits took turns ridiculing Canada and its reliability as an ally in fighting terrorism last week as four more Canadian soldiers were killed in separate attacks in Afghanistan.

Red Eye is satire; often poking fun at subjects most news doesn't even cover... How about being mad at the Govt. who placed those soldiers in harm's way, rather then some jokester at 3am? You have to understand that this is probably one of the biggest problems the US has in its global image. The US is so diverse but the only people that make the news are those that say outlandish things, do outlandish things, or piss off other nations.

This is probably one of the main reasons that even with all the good the US does, by far and large the American global image is negative except perhaps in Canada, as our most recent poll found 88% of Canadians viewed the US positively/neutrally.
