This is still possibly the best cartoon intro ever made. Every frame is brilliant, every note of the theme song is perfect. I defy you to find the bad bit in this video. The new series is fantastic and probably better than the old, but nothing can match this for quality.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animation for the first season (1984-85) was also done by japanese animators if I remember right, and the intro for that cartoon was just as good as Thundercats, really good action sequences and a fast smooth pace. They just don't make them like this no more :(

@Johnlindsey289 actually its not studio ghibli co-produce this show, its the people who work with this show then went to work in studio ghibli after finish this

Did you know Studio Ghibli co-produced this show uncreditedly and some of the animation directors went to do Castle in The Sky, Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies and Pom Poko

Notice all the 80's cartoons and shows had rocking ass theme songs If not rocking new wave and most of them were catchy and explained the origin of the show in their cheesy ass lyrics lol Man the 80's was a good time to be a kid
