  • wait a second her by 56 jensen played with red sox, jenson only played with yanks in 50 51 and part of 52 i just checked.

  • @xyz0312xyz You are correct about Jackie's years with the Yankees. It appears that the Yankees took goodwill tours of Japan in 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956 and maybe others. Perhaps it was an annual tour made by the teams that played in the World Series. Most likely Mickey remembered the wrong year. Billy Martin confirmed that he did play such a prank on Jackie, so either it was a different year or it happened on another flight over a different body of water. Thanks for your comment. We appreciate it!

  • Trust me. You'll sell more dvd's if you let Mantle finish the story. What are you from the porn industry?

  • Hey there!! I guess you're talking TOM STURDIVANT?? I remember him well.....in fact I still have his '58 Topps card. (He looks darn good!) He was a terrific pitcher for a few years, also was one of Mick's buddies. He told some great Mantle stories in the book "Dynasty" about those Yanks. I was really sorry when he passed away last year.

BTW......I'm sorry if I'm not talking about the right guy! But I think I am.

  • My grandpa was on these teams #47

  • I recall reading this incident in Martin/Gowdy's The Golden Boy; it was great to see the video
