Yankees Ticker Tape Parade 2009: Bird's Eye View

My girlfriend and I don't function very well in the morning, and an 11am parade was just a little too early. And slow subways and station closures didn't help at all. We got there just on time, which for a Yankee event is about five hours too late for a good spot. So instead of giving you the same crowd excitement and craziness like the World Series after party, here is a bird's eye view of the parade.

I've been in the crowd, but never above them. It's not quite as fun as being in the middle of all the action, but it's really freaking cool. I loved it.

Props to Isa for having a sweet apartment in the financial district.

Whoa there, batkos. Rivera is arguably the best closer in baseball history, he's one of the most respected players in the major leagues, and he's been a Yankee since he left his native Panama in 1990. He learned English here and now helps others do the same. He's representing Panama honorably, and he's proud to have the opportunity to be living in America. He's a legend. If you've got a problem with Rivera, you can get out of our country.
