  • the real problem is trying to impose a narrow minded westernised mentality on the most culturally diverse nation on earth where each tribe & language group had formed complex traditions that originally a tribal chief looked after these matters on the small scale before a problem balooned to the scale it is today. capitalism breeds a culture of competition. i would say alcohol causes more problems than cannabis and those who have power subconsciously keep others down on both sides to retain it.

  • This is probably as close to the truth as you can get to PNG Police and the environment they are in. This portrays an element to the cops and crime that is relevant but does not sum up the entire nation as a whole. Remember, PNG only received it's full autonomy from the Australian Government back in 1975, so as expected there is still a major teething period that it will go through before it can reach a more stable form both socially and economically..
