Brilliant Djokovic crashes Nadal to reach Montreal final!

Rafael Nadal's hopes of winning the Montreal Masters were ended by Novak Djokovic under the lights on Saturday as the Serb produced a superb display to win their semi-final 7:5, 6:3.

The second-seeded Spaniard had won five of their six previous meetings but third seed Djokovic broke in the 12th game to take the opening set and again in the eighth game of the second to set up a final against world number one Roger Federer.

"This is one of the biggest wins of my career," Djokovic told reporters.

"I won against him in Miami on this surface and tonight I really played some impressive tennis."

Bravo Nole!!!

  • this was in 2007 and nadal was nº2

  • I love Novak, he's by far my favorite tennis player. Awesome!

  • yep, on hard courts but if you include novak's weaker and nadal's stronger surfaces which are both clay and grass nadal is on top in this record

  • NOVAK IS NEW TENNIS KING!!!

  • that match was of more importance to djokovic than to nadal... djokovic could have been the only player to win all american titles.... it wasnt rlly no1 priority to nadal so i think your wrong..

  • He is not the best.

  • nole is the best

  • He had already clinched #1, I really don't think he cared at that point. I think Nadal wanted to leave and go start to prepare for Bejing.

  • But Nadal has lost the first match when he whas No.1 in Semifinal Cincinnati 6-1 7-5!!!
